To make a definitive diagnosis of some skin diseases, it may be necessary to take a tissue sample from the skin by punch biopsy.

Radiosurgery and the cautery unit are used for skin growths called papillomas, while cryotherapy (freezing treatment) is used for warts and certain skin problems. In our department, a skin patch test (true test) and a prick test are performed for diagnostic purposes in allergic skin diseases. Allergy tests are also carried out on blood, and moles and skin cancers (malignant melanoma) are evaluated.

As a result of this examination, it may be decided to monitor some moles and follow-up appointments are given; moles found suitable for removal are removed surgically using appropriate methods.
